PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- 21-year-old woman committed suicide Wednesday afternoon after one-month and a half getting married to a man from abroad under pressure of her parents, according to a source from the victim's relatives.
The victim's relatives told police that Loeung Eng Ly asked her parents to continue her study in Phnom Penh after the marriage, but she was not allowed to go as her parents told her to wait until the end of Pchum Ben festival.
Heang Buntha, deputy police inspector of Battambang's Thmor Kol district where the suicide took place, said that the victim used her pajamas to hang herself to a window.
Some pills were also found near the body of the victim, police confirmed.
Eng Ly got into her room at around12:00 p.m, and never got out until 5:00 p.m the same day, so her mother went up to her room to wake her up, but there was no response, police quoted the victim's relatives as saying.
Police said the victim's mother asked her relatives to break into the room and found that her daughter hanged herself.
Local police confirmed that the victim really committed suicide.

Overall, I have explained to the Khmer before. Khmer race has low population even though they do have a high birth rate. That's because many Khmer died young. It's horrible to be born as a Khmer, must be a punishment from a previous life.
I would never want to be born as a Khmer and I will be good this life time to make sure I won't be punished as such.
