Cambodian FM lauds excellent ties with China

PHNOM PENH, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Hor Namhong on Thursday hailed excellent relations and close cooperation between Cambodia and China, and vowed to further enhance ties for mutual interests.
He made the remarks during a meeting with five former Chinese ambassadors to Cambodia from 1993 to 2013 and the current Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Bu Jianguo.
He said, "The bilateral ties have been gradually strengthened and expanded, and were elevated to the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Cooperation in 2010."
The minister added that the Cambodian government, led by Prime Minister Hun Sen, is committed to further deepening ties and cooperation between the two countries for mutual benefits.
He said the visit of the former Chinese ambassadors to Cambodia clearly reflected the maintaining of friendly relations and close cooperation between the two nations.
He extended his sincere appreciation to the former ambassadors and the current ambassador for their efforts to maintaining and further enhancing China-Cambodian relations.

Meanwhile, Xie Yue'e, former Chinese ambassador to Cambodia from 1993 to 1997, admired Hor Namhong for his tireless efforts to strengthening and expanding the China-Cambodia ties.
She said all ex-ambassadors still continued to help promote China-Cambodian relations even though their diplomatic missions in Cambodia had come to an end.
