PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- hundreds of Cambodian workers in Thailand flocked homes for New Year celebration, while the number of foreigners visiting Cambodia also increases.
In the last seven days, an estimated 600 workers returned home each day after their employers in Thailand gave them pay, said Sim Sam Ath, head of police station at Poipet International Border Checkpoint.
He said the number of foreign tourists crossing border to Cambodia also increased.
An estimated 1,400 to 1,700 tourists crossed the border to Cambodia everyday in the last seven days, he said.
